Richard Long land art
I was drawn to Richard Long's land artworks because of the unique way that they exist fundamentally as essences of themselves, rather than as references to anything else. Something has been made, yet nothing has been added or taken from the ecology in which it was made. They are simple purity; ideas which carry the processes of their making within them. This is a concept that I would like to somehow incorporate into my own work, maybe not to the extent in which Long works in, but perhaps in small amounts within my practice.
